          pay a late fee.

연체료를 내다 / 물다 to pay a late fee.

   예) 열람실에서는 조용히 해 주십시오. Please be quite in the reading room.

   정신이 없다

to be out of one's mind; to be going crazy

   예) 출근 준비하느라 아침에는 항상 정신이 없어요. In the morning, I am always going crazy
          getting ready for work.

   만만하다 <-> 만만하지 않다

to be easily handled
<-> not to be easily manageable; not to be easy to deal with

만만하지 않은 -> 만만찮은

   예) 그는 만만찮은 사람이다 He is very difficult to deal with./ He is quite unmanageable.

   The pattern '-(으)려던 참이다': (I) am/ was just about to do...

The pattern '-(으)려던 참이다' is a contraction of '-(으)려고 하던 참이다' and conveys an intend or the meaning of '(I) am/ was about to do something now'. It is used always in the first person.

    예) 방금 엄마한테 전화하려던 참이었어요. I was about to call you, mom.

        막 외출하려던 참에 손님이 오셨습니다. A visitor came just when I was about to go out.

   The pattern 'V+-(으)ㄹ 겸':
   to do (something) and (something), (both at the same time)

The pattern '-(으)ㄹ 겸' expresses the carrying out of two different purposes or actions at the same time. More than two sentences are combined together and the subject is usually used with the marker '-도'. It is similar to '(doing) along the way' or 'to do (something) as well as (something)' in English.

   예) 공부도 하고 친구도 만날 겸 학교에 갔어요. I went to school to study as well as to meet
          friends.

        여행도 하고 공부도 할 겸 미국에 갔어요. I went to the USA to sightsee as well as to study.
